What's #Project21x21? Newcomer Women's Services launched #Project21x21 to fund its next Sister2Sister Immigrant Women Leadership program in January 2021 for 21 women.
The goal is to raise $44,100 by December 31, 2020.
Why that amount? Because it takes $2,100 to fund one woman.
Why the program matters? COVID-19 has been especially hard on vulnerable populations, including women. The challenges are compounded for newcomers as they adapt to their new home, learn English, and find meaningful work. By supporting #Project21x21, you’re helping immigrant women become self-advocates, engaged citizens and future leaders.

November 29 We're three days away from launching a special one-day #givingtuesday campaign to support #project21x21. We're calling it our "word-of-masked-mouth" campaign because we want spread the news about the work we're doing to support immigrant women leaders. The first 21 people who donate $100+ will receive a limited-edition 3-layer mask as a gift. Our #givingtuesday goal is to raise $4,200 so we can fund two women to attend our January 2021, Sister2Sister leadership program. 5. VIDEOS WITH SISTER@SISTER GRADUATES
Transformation. Empowerment. Community. That’s the outcome we want for all our graduates of the Sister2Sister Immigrant Leadership program. In the video, four women share how they felt before and after the program. We want to offer that life-changing experience to 21 women in January 202. To do that we need to raise $44,100 by December 31. To date we have raised $25,616. We’d be grateful for your support to help us reach our goal! #project21x21.

6. Change purses that Change Lives
To add a new dimension to the last 21 days of the campaign, we’re launching Change Purses that Change Lives. The first 50 people who donate $121 will receive a charming hand-painted change purse created by an immigrant single mother, Dorothy Guo, and her 5-year-old daughter, Sophia Wu. Dorothy is Newcomer Women’s Services client.

A Change Purse that Changes Lives
This holiday season why not give a gift that changes people’s lives? The first 50 donors who contribute $121 to our #PROJECTt21x21 “Change Purses That Change Lives” campaign will receive one of these hand-painted change purses.
These purses have been created by the mother-daughter duo of Dorothy Guo and Sophia Wu. Dorothy, who is a client of NEW, said she and her daughter wanted to do something creative together. “I want my daughter to know that even if you come from a single-parent family, you can still have fun and still be successful.”
All proceeds will go towards sponsoring 21 participants in our January 2021 leadership program for immigrant women called #PROJECT21x21. Strong women build strong communities. Please show your strength!
