Celebrating International Women's Day 2022 - A Note from our Executive Director

Newcomer Women’s Services, Toronto believes “strong women build strong communities.” And to that end we support immigrant women on their journey of integration and more deeply, their journey towards self-actualization.

We do that particularly through the inspiring teachers and child-minders of our English Language Program. Our school is a safe space for 55 women and we care for their youngsters while they study. We won an international award for our work on March 8, 2019 when our school rallied for the empowerment of women.

We also do that through our community leadership program, Sister2Sister and our new employment program, Sister2Sister Advanced Leadership. Both programs are designed to educate and support newcomer women to become leaders in their families, their communities and in the workplace.

Please hear our sisters tell the stories in the video below of how this programming is making a difference.

Will you support our work and join us in supporting this year’s theme for International Women's Day 2022, #BreaktheBias"?
