Happy International Women's Day 2023

Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the courage, strength and resilience of women worldwide!

Newcomer Women’s Services Toronto joins the world today (March 8th) in celebrating #InternationalWomensDay. Today, we not only celebrate the achievements of women worldwide but recognize the ongoing struggle and call-to-action for accelerating #genderparity.

This year’s theme #EmbraceEquity is established with the belief for a fair and equal society where women can access and achieve their full potential to succeed, irrespective of race, ethnicity or any other identity.

In active efforts to embracing equity, Newcomer Women’s Services Toronto and the Toronto History Museums have partnered to host a Newcomer Women’s Conference showcasing the voices of Newcomer Women on Saturday, March 11th 2023.

This conference, held at Todmorden Mills Heritage Site (67 Pottery Rd, Toronto, ON) will recognize the exceptional work of all the newcomer women in the Social Justice Lab Fellowship (SJL) and the Advanced Leadership Program (ALP). This day also celebrates the graduations of the ALP women, and awards them their completion certificates. The day will welcome Immigrant Women Industry leaders to view and respond to issues highlighted in the SJL final presentations. Additionally, a discussion panel brings women from both programs (ALP & SJL) together to propose solutions that illuminate barriers facing newcomer women seeking meaningful employment.

Join us as we continue to advance our efforts to broaden access to #equity for women!
