Sew New Program

Newcomer Women’s Services Launches ‘Sew New’ Program to Boost Entrepreneurship

Newcomer Women’s Services is proud to launch SEW NEW – our exciting new social enterprise.

In 2019, we are offering 21 women – no matter their sewing skill – the opportunity to receive top quality instruction from the owner of The Make Den Sewing Studio, Irene Stickney.

This is more than a class. The class will become a business thanks to the support of Irene and “Enactus Ryerson”, an entrepreneurial group of students sponsored by the Ted Rogers School of Management. Enactus will help us launch a new hemming and mending business in June 2019 at 745 Danforth.

The current program is now full however we will re-run the program in the fall.

Stay tuned for the SEW NEW grand opening in June!

Newcomer Women’s Services Toronto (NEW) thanks the Women’s Giving Network for their donation of 250 pounds of fabric to our SEW NEW program.
