Seeking a Graphic Designer with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience to be part of our very dynamic in-house creative team. In this role, the designer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the creative execution of a variety of marketing materials in both print and digital. This position requires an individual who is self-motivated and understands that good design is a discipline that enhances marketing goals.

Who you will be working with:

  • Reporting to the Art Director
  • Collaborating with creative team members such as writers, technical editors, graphic designers, production artists and print production managers
  • Interacting with other brand department members such as marketing managers
  • Liaising with outside suppliers

What you will be doing:

  • Contributing to the planning and development of creative ideas and design concepts with the team
  • Designing direct mail and advertising in print as well as digital
  • Participating in team meetings and attending project briefs
  • Collaborating with team members from different departments
  • Managing workflow consisting of multiple projects and deadlines
  • Making design modifications as required
  • Reviewing and implementing feedback and changes from colleagues
  • Delivering production files/digital artwork to suppliers
  • Reviewing proofs

Must Have Skills:

  • Understanding of key graphic design principles, theories and practices
  • A sharp eye for typography (you appreciate well-kerned type)
  • Experience in corporate branding and working within the limits of brand guidelines
  • Proficiency in leading trade software (Adobe CC – InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop), and knowledge of Sketch program is a plus
  • Knowledge of the printing process
  • Technical experience preparing final files for print
  • Capability to multi-task and balance multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and detail-oriented skills

What we are looking for:

  • 3-5 years’ experience minimum in the creative industry or experience within advertising/design culture
  • A university or college degree from a recognized institution
  • Previous experience with the Canadian credit card industry or financial services is a plus but not a deal breaker
  • A team player, collaborates well with others
  • A keen eye for detail, and a passion for problem solving and innovation

Duration:  6 months – potential conversion to perm based on fit.

Location: Downtown Toronto
